Someone to care for, someone to trust,
Someone to be there, when you’re fit to bust,
Someone who’s loving, someone who’s strong,
Someone who’s behind you, right or wrong.
A person who’s patient, to take any crap,
A person to listen, if need be, to slap,
A person who knows when to leave you alone,
But will never let go, like a dog with a bone.
Someone to protect you, when you are sad,
Someone to laugh with, when you are glad,
Someone who’s honest, faithful and kind,
Someone who’s a challenge, who isn’t so blind.
He’ll caress you and love you, in every way,
He’ll always forgive you, he’ll be here to stay,
He won’t ask for much in return for your love,
He just wants the chance, to be your dove.
Someone who though short, has a very big heart,
Someone who for you, will make a fresh start,
Someone who will teach you, and learn from you too,
Someone who will paddle, when he shares your canoe.
To accept any faults, you could possibly have,
To take what he’s given, till he goes to his grave,
To see your good side, despite any bad press,
To help with your problems, all your ailments address.
All these things I’d do, if just given the chance,
To be your right hand, both our lives to enhance,
To make a new world, to fulfil all our dreams,
To fill up your life, till’ it bursts at the seams.
So ponder these words, as you go through your day,
Our Friendship won’t change, despite what you say,
Just know that the offer, comes straight from the heart,
That I always will care for you, as I did from the start.
Know that to me, you are very special,
That even for friendship, I would still settle,
As a friend, all I’ve written above still applies,
So for writing this poem, please don’t despise.
Nothing need change for us, if you so desire,
I’ll try to be there, in whatever you require,
Take as long as you need, before you reply,
As while I am waiting, no-one else may apply.
